In Pak Kret, in the region close to Bangkok, the Sisters worked with the needy in the slums. Poor and abandoned children were gathered in Houses of Hope where they would be provided with education and a safe environment. The Sisters collaborated with other religious congregation as well as with the Buddhist monks. They visited the most destitute regions in the mountains. They also collaborated in pastoral ministry to the large Japanese community in Bangkok.
The History of the Mission
In 2004, in Pak Kret, 18 km from Bangkok, in a parish under the direction of the Priests of the Foreign Missions of Milan, Italy, Our Lady of the Rosary Province opened a mission Ad Gentes. The Sisters worked there until March 11, 2016.
The Congregation then left Thailand. The two missionary Sisters returned to Sendai in Japan.
A Sister of Charity must be of all nations. […]
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
