An enticement to pursue the meditation

The devotion to the Eternal Father comes from our Youvillian roots.  In 1770, the litanies to the Eternal Father were composed, at the request of Marguerite d’Youville, by M. de Lavalinière, a Sulpician priest.  The purpose of this request from Marguerite d’Youville: “To forever establish this devotion in her community and place all her daughters under the sweet necessity of bringing their wishes to the Eternal Father every day of their lives, for themselves, but also for the poor.” (Life of Mother d’Youville, p. 269, Faillon).  These litanies have been part of the prayer of the Sisters since April 4, 1770.
