HONOURS FOR AN EDUCATOR
Over the past ten years, Lowell Catholic High School has been recognizing individuals who make an outstanding contribution and are especially dedicated to the Catholic community and to Catholic education. This award is dedicated to the memory of the late Bishop John McNamara, auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston and a tireless worker in support of Catholic education. This gala evening was also a fundraiser for tuition scholarships for needy students.
The guests arrive. The honourees with the principal of
Lowell Catholic High School, Mrs. Maryellen DeMarco.This year, two recipients were honoured: Mr. Michael Kunzler, a local businessman and Sister Préscille Malo, s.c.o., principal of Ste Jeanne d’Arc School in Lowell. Sister Préscille’s career in education spans more than 40 years. She has received numerous awards for her leadership in education and has been called upon by the Archdiocese of Boston in several instances to serve on committees and to be a mentor in its school leadership program.

Mr. Michael Kunzler and Sr. Préscille Malo, s.c.o. the University of Massachusetts at Lowell,
congratulates Sr. Préscille in the presence of
Mrs. Maryellen DeMarco, principal of
Lowell Catholic High School.
Sr. Préscille is presented by a Grade 12 student, Sr. Pauline Leblanc introduces Sr. Préscille.
William Overstreet, a former Ste Jeanne d’Arc student.Sister Préscille is also known for her work in the wider community, serving on several Boards of Trustees, and being a vital contributor to the life of St. Rita Parish.
