50th anniversary of Saint Jerome Parish

October 5: Homage rendered to the SCO by the parishioners of Windsor

Seven Sisters participated in a Mass celebrating the 50th anniversary of the parish during which a special homage was rendered to the Priests and Sisters who have served in that parish.  Besides the seven concelebrants, there were many parishioners, former students and teachers present.  Over a period of 41 years, the SCO assumed pastoral responsibilities, taught in three French primary schools and one French secondary school, besides participating in social activities in the parish.  Following the Eucharist, the group gathered at the Alouette Club.  How pleasant it was to hear people reminisce and recall special anecdotes describing their years of dedication to the parish and the schools. One could sense the feeling of affection and gratitude throughout the conversations.  The master of ceremonies then highlighted the SCO contribution and presented each Sister with a certificate of honour.

This celebration had a certain nostalgic aspect about it since our St Theresa Convent has been sold and the last three Sisters to occupy the house left Windsor definitively on October 24th . These precious moments of sharing, of joy, and yes, of a few tears, constituted a bouquet of vibrant souvenirs in the memory of our hearts.
