A word from Mother Bruyère
April 6, 1845
Rev. Fr. Telmon, who had been eager to come to get us, preached a very touching sermon. He painted a moving portrait of the spiritual and physical misery of the needy in Bytown. He told us that for the past ten months, he had been invoking Mary at her altar to obtain a few poor Grey Nuns and, having finally obtained them, he was coming to thank her and to ask her to keep us under her protection.
