A Longtime Faithful Associate
Mrs. Bertha Jalbert became an Associate in St. Joseph Province in 1990. Her enthusiasm kept her involved in all the activities of the group and her ministry of Eucharistic Minister at D’Youville Senior Care Center brought much joy to the residents, since in addition to bringing them the Body of Christ, she also brought cheerful words of encouragement and support. Recently, several health issues with aging bones have brought hospitalization and stages of rehabilitation into her life. The most recent episode resulted in her having to accept long term placement in a health care facility. Bertha intends to remain an Associate and recently renewed her commitment in the presence of the members of the Province Team at Fairhaven Health Care Center in Lowell on the eve of her 89th birthday. Her ministry: to be cheerful and to smile at her fellow residents and at the nursing personnel, to bring joy to her surroundings.
