In 1931, we had crossed the Atlantic Ocean; in 1960, we crossed the Pacific Ocean for a foundation in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan.

1960 - 2000: The first three foundresses undertook their mission at Spellman Hospital in Sendai. Since then, the sisters have traversed the country from north to south, passing through the capital, Tokyo. We find them in Yamagata, Hirosaki, Nagoya and Kochi, where they work with kindergarten children, with the Filipino immigrants, with the elderly, as well as in parish ministry. In the area of health care, our sisters have developed a service in palliative care. They
also are involved in the rehabilitation of drug addicts and alcoholics.
21st century: To begin and nurture the dialogue among the World Religions is an integral part of our educational mission in the Land of the Rising Sun. According to the possibilities, the sisters offer Bible courses and facilitate formation sessions. The presence of our Japanese sisters allows the charism of compassion to take on new forms.
