On our journey

A word from Mother Bruyère

for this Thursday …

March 18, 1846

Our little Irish girls sang the hymn to St. Patrick at the end of Fr. Molloy’s speech, he a second Mr. Phelan.  Our children were in their full dress.  One could not distinguish the little Canadians from the Irish if one judged only by the green ribbons; the majority had the white veils that they wore the day of their First Communion and on the feasts of the Blessed Virgin.Mother Bruyère's pen
