The first French school in Bytown

The first French school in Bytown

 

To the left of the house, between the kitchen and the garden fence, a small pathway led to a shed at the end of the yard.  This simple building of twenty feet by eighteen would become the first French school in Bytown.  Thus was launched the education of young girls.
