Since the work of caring for the orphans kept expanding from its inception on St. Patrick Street, a new orphanage had to be built on the corner of Sussex and Cathcart Streets in July, 1868. This building was an exact replica of the Mother House but was a bit smaller, fifty by fifty feet.
