The Sisters care for the immigrants

The Sisters care for the immigrants

 

The Sisters, in spite of their meager resources, brought the immigants food and clothing.  They brought their laundry to the river during the day; in the evening, by candle-light, they would mend and try to extend the life of the threadbare garments.  How happy they were to bring them clean clothing.
